![]() Mark Ochsenbein Eastern Kentucky '77 President of the General Council - Brother Ochsenbein leads Phi Delta Theta into the 2008-2010 Biennium
Brother Mark Ochsenbein was elected as the President of the General Council at the 77th Biennial Convention in Paradise Valley, Arizona and will lead the Fraternity during the 2008-2010 biennium. Mark holds a BS in Law Enforcement from Eastern Kentucky University, where he joined the Kentucky Theta Chapter, and is a graduate from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United State Army, Mark is currently the Director of Student Activities at Tennessee Tech University. He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster, 4th District Commander, American Legion, Dept. of Tennessee, Board of Directors of the Tennessee Tech Library, Chairman of the Military Affairs Advisory Committee at Tennessee Tech, and member of the Cookeville American Heart Association, March of Dimes, and Multiple Sclerosis organizations. Mark is currently a member of the Tennessee Upper Cumberland Alumni Club and has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys running, whitewater canoeing, shooting and hiking. He has visited over 43 countries and has flown over many of the most remote places in the world as a helicopter pilot. Brother Ochsenbein brings great experience to the Presidency of the General Council having spent six years as the Eta South Province President, close to 15 Phi Delta Theta leadership conferences as a Faculty member, more than 10 years as Faculty Advisor for the Tennessee Delta Chapter at Tennessee Tech, and as Member-at-Large, Reporter, and Treasurer of the General Council. Membership in Phi Delta Theta is a family affair for the Ochsenbeins. Mark's sons, Kyle and Sean, both joined Phi Delta Theta at Tennessee Tech University and had the opportunity to introduce and support their father during the General Council elections at this summer's Convention. An in-depth interview with Brother Ochsenbein will be found in the next version of The Scroll. |
